重汽车辆把缓速器整合到车辆制动系统里，缓速器是通过车辆控制系统或者缓速器控制系统根据运行和操作状况来激活的，液力缓速器非常简易地通过安装在转向柱上的缓速器手柄开关控制。

驾驶室里面的缓速器功率控制手柄，共有七个档位：0挡为缓速器关闭状态 ，B挡(= 下坡恒速功能)，1挡时缓速器输出20%的制动扭矩700Nm，2挡时缓速器输出40%的制动扭矩1400Nm ，3挡时缓速器输出60%的制动扭矩2100Nm，4挡时缓速器输出80%的制动扭矩2800Nm，5挡时缓速器输出100%的制动扭矩3500Nm。
